The AOU in Egypt and Sudan branches are having special policy to support learners as below:

  1. Students with Special Needs:

If students have special conditions and needs that affect their performance to complete the course, they can submit proof and discuss their conditions and needs with their tutor, who will speak about their matter with an appropriate authority. Also, if students want to extend their examination due to some special needs and conditions, they need to submit their needs and explain their special conditions three weeks before the exam date.

2. Repeating Courses

The AOU students may not retake any courses in which they had obtained grade (B) or (A). And Grade D is considered as the minimum passing grade for a student’s successful completion of the course.

Final grades for each course as letter grades shall correspond to the following points: 

Classification, OU UK AOU Rating / Cumulative Average 
First class Excellent 
Second class (1st Division) Very good 
Second class (2nd Division) Good 
Third class Pass

3. Student Appeals:

The students can receive their grades, and the exams schedule online.

4. Face-to-face classroom meeting for tutorials

  • Specific courses might have more hours Face-to-face tutorial classroom 
  • Four classroom courses are designed every single semester.
  • Attending face-to-face tutorial is mandatory by the student. Students absence from tutorials should not exceed 25% of the tutorials.
